Thing is now, with Bond, they have such a high check list that even a light bulb blown shows up on their HUMS. So that classes as a fault making the chopper return to base. Bond are total shitebags to be fair. Slightest thing. We had a chopper return to base 2 months ago, it happens all the time. The press must have just caught wind of this.
Over Christmas we had a chopper break down on deck for 3 days. Oil was p1ssing out of the gear box. The pilot was determined to take off. It was only the persistence of the HLO that made him shutdown. Once the tech got winched down to fix said gearbox, he commented that the chopper would possibly not of made it back. So sometimes its not the helicopter provider its human error is a big factor too.......
