NSG spends £500k on system scaffoldMarch 20, 2012 |

UK scaffold and industrial services company NSG UK has invested £500,000 in new Altrad scaffolding.

The Altrad Plettac Contur System scaffold, will replace all of NSG UK’s old system scaffolding stock.

Mike Carr, NSG UK managing director, said: “This is the most modern system scaffolding available on the market and we are now one of only three firms in the UK to be using it. It is a big investment for us but we believe that this demonstrates our commitment and desire to build a reputation as the best scaffolding provider in the UK.

“This also rationalises all of our stock, the Contur scaffolding is even more flexible and secure, allowing us to design better bespoke systems for our clients, whatever the size or shape of the building or facility.”

“We are still able to design and erect ‘tube and fitting’ scaffolding where it is needed but the larger projects – particularly working at greater heights – are better suited to system scaffolding.”

NSG was acquired by Montpelier France, based scaffold producer Altrad last June.

Is it just me or are the rest of you thinking the same.Two(2) day course to (legally) erect ALTRAD PLETTAC SYSTEM SCAFFOLD.Wonder how much that is gonna cost.

i was thinking about the 3 weeks i had with plettac last year throwing it up and tearing it down with ze germans , we worked at a police training college and i swear to god , we were 9 lifts up and the culture was no hard hat and no harness , i went to put them on when we got there and the ***** like no, its okay we dont need them , honestly, they/we drank litre bottle of beers at break , UNFUCKINBELEIVABLE , 3 weeks with plettac and i had those big fuckin neck muscles like hulk hogan because of the width of those fuckin frames and the way that you punt them up

and i dont know if the plettac i used will be different from this stuff , but its mental just doesnt seem right as a structure , of course its sound but it seems strange when your working with like no leger where it should be and its like a hand rail is a ledger , and you have to lift the board over its position and put it down on those circular bits that stick up from the frame, fuckin mental , ive got me a kwikstage card , heehehe, better get me a plettac card now , cant wait till i can say i got t and f cards, kwik cards, cup cards, plettac cards , fuckin cards fuckin crads fcudkincadsrsdfucink cadsrfukcin craesd ****.

Layher out of patent then ?

Not sure RV mate.
I cant see a Firm as big as Layher letting something like that get away from them.

Ive seen Altrad about for a while... its like a total rip off of Layher, but its very very slightly different - hardly noticeable, tbh.
Not noticeable enough to make a difference anyway.

A lot of patents run out that's the reason why TRAD H&S copy haki and cuplok only difference is the the copies are made by bozo's who can't weld to the standard of the originals .

your not wrong there Red, hows the new job? And don't be so sure there's no difference, genuine cuplok and nearly all the copies have very different properties, needless to say the genuine product is very very strong and quality controlled as for the rest you get what you pay for!

I dont care what name its manufactured under i dislike system scaffolding and am and always will be a tube and fitting fan

NSG,very dodgy firm, full of system only scaffs most employed through agencies any wonder they can afford to buy new gear.By the way when I say system only I mean system only.Mate of mine is on Lairds (Birkenhead) he said any tube and fitting jobs come up they have not got a clue .How the hell can you call yourself a scaffolder if you can't use tube and fittings more to the point how the fukc do they get cards?

Layher has issues with gaps, plettac is even worse and they both cost too much, for starters.

Its the lego business model, you buy enough for a fire station and end up with the f**king Taj Mahal.
