Leading scaffolding and industrial services firm NSG UK is capitalising on its growth in the North East by opening a new office in the region.

The firm, a long standing member of the Teeside Contractors Association, opened a base at the Wilton Centre in Teeside on April 1.

NSG works on scaffolding and industrial access projects across the UK; in the North East the company has previously worked with clients including Corus at Redcar and British Energy at Hartlepool Power Station. Operations in the region will be led by Steve Raby.

Tim Walker, NSG UK general manager, said: "The North East is a thriving centre for industry, manufacturing and engineering, and we felt the time was right for NSG to develop a site presence in the region.

"There is significant investment planned for the Teeside area which already has important industrial market and we are keen to capitalise on our longstanding relationships in the region and to play a part in its development.

"NSG UK provide industrial services throughout the life cycle of a facility, from construction, repair and maintenaince including major overhauls, through to decommissioning, The services we provide include scaffold, rope access, painting & blasting and insulation, either as standalone disciplines or as part of a multi discipline service. We understand that there is a very large demand for R&M across the Teeside and wider North East region and NSG UK has an outstanding reputation in this sector, working closely with some of the biggest construction, engineering and petrochemical brands in the world.

"This expansion is another sign of our commitment to growth and the aim of becoming the UK's leading scaffolding and industrial services provider."

Tim added: "The Wilton Centre is a fantastic hub for research and development and will provide us with a perfect base to co-ordinate our work across the region."

NSG UK announced strong sales growth figures in January, hitting a turnover of almost £26million for the period to 31 August 2011. The firm announced an investment of £500,000 in March in the latest market leading Altrad Plettac Contur System Scaffolding.

The Deeside based company, which employs 320 workers across the UK, has enjoyed a sustained period of success, consolidating its work in the core construction and engineering sectors while further expanding into new sectors such as offshore and infrastructure.

For more information on NSG UK's services visit Industrial Services & Cleaning, Thermal Insulation, Cladding & Scaffolding Company | NSG UK or call 01244 833100.

NSG, which also has an office in Bootle, employs 395 people. All are employed directly. The firm does not use agency or temporary staff. And it is this, says Carr, which allows the firm to concentrate on what he claims is its number one priority - health and safety. Quote from the NSG web site.Yet it's common knowledge in Liverpool that they use an agency to start men on a temporary basis.Although someone said that NSG run the agency, don't know if that's true.Strange way to run a firm or is this the future for all of us?
