Just came across this

Base-rite scaffolding

Scaffolding erector

Job description

Scaffolding erector ,experienced and own transport for getting to work, possibilities of a permanent position.a certificate would also be preferred but not essential ,it would be beneficial with years experience ,this is why it would start as a temporary position which could lead to permanent with an experienced scaffolder

A certificate woukd be preffered but not essential, come on eh?!

some of the best scaffolders i know dont have cards
A CISRS CARD is not law, anyone can put a Scaffold up on Private Land just look at the amount of Roofers etc put their own jobs up:eek:

A ticket doesn't mean ur the best scaffolder around!
I've had a few blokes with no ticket and in many
Cases have proven to be more competent than those
With all the tickets under the sun!!!

Your right the ticket dont make the man, i know lads that dont have cards and are good scaffs and i know lads that had the ecitb and had to do the cisrs route, but i find it a bit insulting that companys will take guys on knowing they have no card when most of us have had to go through the carryon of getting one eapecially if you were self funded

That's what happens when demand outstrips supply.

Why feel insulted?
Surely having the so called training will give you a better bargaining tool to help achieve a rate that is surely due;)
