The contractors used a similar system when doing repair works on the Heathrow tunnels about 12-14 years ago, to save time erecting and dismantling the towers as they went.
They fixed a sleeve type affair to the correct places on a few 16x8 Ifor Williams trailers, drove them in at night when the tunnels were closed off and erected and dismantled the top bit as they moved along.
I didn't work on the job, but a close relative of mine bought all the trailers afterwards for a very reasonable sum, sold all but one and made a very nice profit thank you very much !
