NEWS North Sea helicopter flights have been suspended, after the controlled ditching in the North Sea.

The CHC Superpuma made an emergency landing 32 miles south of Shetland yesterday - all nineteen on board are safe and well.

CHC and Bristow are holding flights on that type of helicopter until we know more - we're still waiting to hear from Bond.

We can reveal the ditching may have been sparked by concerns about the aircraft's gearbox.

The captain of the Nord Nightingale - which came to the rescue yesterday - has spoken exclusively to Northsound.

He says the landing on the water was so controlled, he thought it was a drill.

NEWS - Bond Offshore have announced they will suspend all operations involving Super Puma EC225 and AS332L2 aircraft. It follows yesterdays ditching of a helicopter South of Shetland. They join the operators CHC and Bristow in the move.
