Networking, new customers

As everyone is aware the current climate is not the best for attracting new customers.

Has anyone tried networking breakfasts/lunches? Do they work? Are there any better options?

I would be greatfull of any feedback.

A good piss up and game of golf does the trick. It all depends on your research on the the clients enjoyments. Yes the brown envelope does have a big swing aswell or the golden handshake as i call it.

I was hoping bringing in a compliant, and more cost effective form of access provision would be enough to swing customers our way.
