£ 450, 500 and the competent person ticket is hard to pass unless youve studied bloody hard its not like the olde competent person course its a lot harder and only last 1 year instead of the 3 year. only the person last 3 years which is pretty easy to pass and will get you on a substation. our firms the main contractor for the national grid and weve worked 7 days for the last 2 months solid due to the olympics but come the middle of june been told by the national grid there will be no work going on so there be a low period!! wether this is true or not only time will tell personally think the person ticket is your best bet as it last 3 years but if your happy to go for the competent person good luck and if you pass it throw your spanners away. and work for another contractor just holding permits and asking for beter money and walking round site makeing sure everybodys working safe but!! remember anybody fooks up its your responsibilty

All true from Dico and you'll not find many scaffolders with a national grid competence persons ticket.

Persons ticket can be obtained in about 45 minutes.

Sounds like a good opportunity if I didn't already have work, me and another 4 are all besc trained and I have my competent to take out permits, we're working 5days at the moment but always looking for weekend work so if your struggling then would be there to help out at the weekends if needed.

aprill should start to see the grid work pick up then the weekends should kick in double standard personally think the agenceys paye the beter rates when they need men

Anychance dico of the agency numbers.if ok.im besc trained.

there be advertised on here on the job section mate if not type in national grid jobs on line and register for job alerts your get them that way don't no where your based mate but pro access scaffolding always looking for besc guys when there busy

What ever you do don't waste a 2 hour drive to take the test at a regional National grid office in shorts only to be turned away......
