Thieves steal scaffolding poles from Wallsend site - Wallsend - Communities - ChronicleLive

THIEVES made off with £4,000 worth of scaffolding poles from an industrial compound.

The offence took place at a site in Howdon Lane, Wallsend, North Tyneside, between 4:30pm on Friday and 8am on Monday. Around 800 galvanised steel poles were stolen.

Det Insp Neil Brotherton said: “The thieves will have used a flat-bed or lorry to steal the poles. I’d appeal for anyone who lives or works in the area and who may have seen any unusual vehicles over the weekend to contact us with information.

“The poles will more than likely have been stolen for their scrap value and we are carrying out checks at scrapyards.”
