Hi
Although I have been in the game for longer than I care to remember I have a supervisors job temporarily and need to measure built scaffolds.
What is the best method please lads?
Thanks

Thanks HSWT just wanted to gauge the opinions on here as I know many are experienced supervisors/Managers

For what reason are you measuring built jobs?
If it's for a stock take ie Tubes, boards, fittings etc. use a formula.
If it's for wages measure how the lads are paid, either by the square, m2 or linear metres + boards etc.

SWIFTY If it's for a stock take ie Tubes, boards, fittings etc. use a formula.

Can you give me some info on how?

You cant rely on a formula for stock take purposes if they are insisting on an accurate count. Don't they keep a record of what gear they send out and comes back from a job?
In Australia we had it down to a fine art with all information available at the touch of a button. Jobs were still counted for invoicing purposes as were on a schedule of rates. I got the lads to add on 10% tax of course.

Like HSWT says if it has to be 100% accurate you're going to have to count a lot.

This works for me, I had it from Chump I can't find the thread.

For 2m lifts:
Ledger length x lifts x 8 = tube
Fittings 25% tube
Boards 50% boarded ledger

eg 60` x 5 lifts = 300`
tube 2,400 x 0.01 = 24
fitt 600 x 0.03 = 18
brds 150 x 0.30 = 45
