Man fell from roof in Wansford after scaffolding collapsed - Local - Rutland and Stamford Mercury

An air ambulance was called after a roofer fell 15ft from a first-story house when the scaffolding he was standing on collapsed beneath him.

Jonathan Howe, 27, and John Perry, 33, from Warmington-based JH Roofing, were on the verge of completing a week long job to re-tile the roof of a house in Elton Road, Wansford.

At about 1.30pm on Tuesday the scaffolding supporting the men and their ladders tipped over causing Mr Perry to fall to the ground.

He landed on his feet but sustained injuries to his legs. Police and the air ambulance were called to the scene but Mr Perry was taken to hospital by road ambulance.

He is currently at Peterborough City Hospital where his injuries are being assessed.

The scaffolding had been erected by Knight Scaffolding, which is investigating the incident.

The Health and Safety Executive is also making initial inquiries

Lets hope for a quick recovery. wouldnt be the black tube that caused the collapse surely!!??

Obviously, I know nothing about the incident or anyone involved, but when I was reading the first post my first thought was, these guys were on it a week, nearing completion, what have they done to it?

I know you shouldn't assume anything and we all tend to defend our own trade, but that's what I have seen over the years.
