Man and seven-year-old injured after collision on A1303 near Newmarket

A MAN and seven-year-old boy were injured when their car collided with a scaffolding truck on the A1303, near Newmarket, this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene at about 8.30am at a crossroads leading to Swaffham Bulbeck and Dullingham.
The man was trapped in the car and had to be cut free by firefighters from Newmarket Fire Station and Parkside Fire Station, Cambridge.
A spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service said the boy had a fractured pelvis and possible lower limb fractures and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. She said the man was also taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital but said his injuries were unknown.
A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said the road remained closed as police cleared the scene.
