Cheltenham couple denied £30,000 fraud | This is Gloucestershire

A Cheltenham couple have denied the fraud of at least £30,000.

Gary Foley and wife Lorraine pleaded not guilty to dishonestly abusing their positions as the manager and administrative assistant of M&M Scaffolding Ltd.

Gary, 48, and Lorraine, 46, both of Dormer Road in Cheltenham will stand trial at Gloucester Crown Court on a later date.

The court heard they are alleged to have diverted payments from the company, accepted cash payments they did not account for and made up false invoices to gain no less than £30,000.

The fraud act includes abuse of position and also taking of money intended for a company when services are provided by a company. Maximum sentence 10 stretch.
It is aimed at stopping company employees providing services and pocketing the money.
