 Lorry hits scaffolding in Sevenoaks

This is the scene that has closed a major road... after a lorry hit scaffolding.

The A225 Tonbridge Road was shut in both directions near Sevenoaks after the accident between Oak Lane and the A224 London Road this afternoon.

It is believed the lorry struck scaffolding outside a jeweller's between Oak Lane and A224 London Road.

All roads approaching the junction were closed and traffic was diverted via the A21 while the scene was cleared.

At least it stayed together, couldn't see much evidence of ties though. If the job was built right and tied, the trucker will carry the can but no doubt it will be the usual bump for bump rather than any real attempt at finding out what went wrong exactly.

bump for bump dose that not only count with vehicles not objects lol i knwo for a fact its the moving vehicle that take the wrap vs a stationary vehicle so if we apply you theory of bump for bump with vehicle vs object object win but like you say no doubt the scaffs will get more fines than the dirver

It was just an expression marra to relate my belief that the insurers spread the blame far and wide to encompass as many individuals as possible to reduce their liability with scant regard to the fact the scaffold was as you astutely recognise, mostly static and the fud in the truck was doing a tight manoeuvre in a busy street without a banksman.

I'm half daft, but even I didn't think the job ran across the street without looking and hit the truck.

driver has only got to reverse and no one will notice

had a brick wagon knock one of mine ,pushed the far gable out a foot and the rear elevation standards looked like bananas floating over pads,a week later david Cameron went up it no ****,if only his security detail knew and did a proper recon lol

How anyone can attempt a virtual 180' degree turn in a lorry is beyond me
