Just wondering what you like doing.
Got a few to do, with drilled anchors into the slab using Excalibur bolts with B&P obviously, but at the far end of the beams, inside the lift shaft,
I get the lads to drill in another set in the lift shaft wall, just in case the 2 outside preventing uplift fail, now by doing this, it's not really a cantilevered scaffold but can't help doing it, as it's a long way down if they do fail.

How big is the lift shaft Jon? Ie how far are the beams going in?

Don't see why you would have to drill mate wouldn't the horse ( properly jacked up to the ceilings obviously lol ) and say an undersling at the end ( inside the shaft ) jacked either side be enough?

2.2m cantilevered, and No ceiling to jack to outside yet, and no bobby, screw jacking a under sling is not the way it's done mate, you bloody cowboy

You tell him MM hahaha

I done loads of that type of work mate and anything you can find to spur of or sit on is well worth doing when you get out on it ,
I know that the bolts are strong but you can never help but think will they hold,
When you are in the shaft looking back at them .

That's quite a big shaft MM most are well under 2m .

But I did hear he is apprentice to a top man these days MM ;)

Joking ain't ya lol me a cowboy ain't been called that for at least a week!! :) yes anchor points are strongest obviously but jacking the sides certainly sure up the end holds it nice and steady takes the spring out of it as long as your horse has a check ledger on the beams will do ( but as there is no ceiling won't help you in the slightest lol )

As there is no ceiling to jack up to can't see how else you could do it apart from your way apart from countledge on an horse ( proper yee ha scaffolding lol )

It's a goods hoist, so is bigger than normal lift shaft.
The ties are proof tested obviously but just in case the do fail, I like having a back up, I don't think the bolts would fail, more than likely the concrete will give before the bolts,
so putting another set in with a 6ft in, to sit the the beams on, is as good as I can get, just makes me cringe thinking I'm sending lads out there, it's 40m up.

Just hire Phil and me Jon Phil sorts out the logistics and I get all the ear ache and bruised arms going simples

Heres wot we normally do -just put 2xtubes internal of each side of the door frame raking up into the shaft & tie together @ the bottom on the inside of the door frame- this will stop them slipping out.put another tranny across in the middle to rest a brd on & allow u to put another tranny on DCs @ the top of the raking tubes (this will be to attach your punchins to)
Now frame out from that tube back through the door& put 2xstandards to pick up your frame but will also act as a tie @ the top of the door frame- so now it wont be able to slide down & out or tip.you can now either put droppers or punchins(whichever way u wanna go) of the back wall tranny & bobs ur uncle
