Role Overview
STP&I Module Yard Facility - Laem Chabang Thailand
Reports to Site Manager . Assigned to field construction organization in a supervisory capacity. Responsible for supervising and directing operations within assigned discipline or area. Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions. Other responsibilities include:
•Ensures that Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility.
•Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of construction operations.
•Actively participates in scheduled safety meetings.
•Coordinates activities with other disciplines or areas and clients’ resident representatives, as instructed by construction management.
•Ensuring qualified and competent persons are identified and available to oversee scaffolding activities under his/her purview
•Establishing on-going project scaffold material supply requirements and advising Supervisor of scaffold material needs, shortages, surplus, condition etc.
•Coordinating with the BEO Scaffold Asset Manager and Field Procurement Manager for the timely supply of scaffold material
•Identifying those scaffolds that require special design or erection techniques
•Maintaining a scaffold tracking database or system to ensure the productivity of scaffold program by collecting and reporting metrics per SWPP 4MP-T81-02103.
•Supervising the ordering, handling, storing, return and overall management of scaffold material, including the monitoring of scaffold costs
•Managing scaffold erection manpower
•Ensuring that a process is established to tag and dispose of damaged scaffolding material
•Ensuring scaffold users are trained in the hazards related to work on scaffolds and to understand the procedures to control or minimize those hazards
•Ensuring that all scaffold users are trained in safe access/egress and usage of scaffolds, including directing that no one other than a trained installer alter, remove or build a scaffold
Basic Qualifications
· Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation.
§ Knowledge of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Philosophy.
§ Knowledge of the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan and the Bechtel Core Processes
§ Knowledge of the Six Sigma program tools and methodologies.
§ Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
§ Knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs)
§ Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards.
§ Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
§ Experience working with, supervising and administering subcontractors and/or
