lack of work in the north east

how very true this seems to b , glad its not just me thats noticed this, w.t.f is goin on, ive just come home from the middle east, i didnt realise it was so grim, y is all the work down south?????? for us northern access and support engineers its hard to find work, then find your own digs, things have to pick up surely.?

yes it is true my friends, im west cumbria, been out of work a month now, when i got finished with cape at sellafield, i thought i would walk into a jod no prob 18yr experience with advanced card IOSH, NEBOSH certs, offshore, no such luck, sellafield could always be relied upon for work for us lads, but no more, first time i been out o work for 15yr.. keep ya chin up boys
 
i know for sure work has to pick up soon its april in a few days and still no sign of any breaks
 
theirs nothing up the north west either i know of 1 but its only for 3 months with cape
 
drax shutdown near selby starts on 9th april, if anyone wants a phone number please pm me, cape don't really take on direct though, it will be an agency (a good one) no digs or travel but pay is quite good, advanced £17/hr, part 2 £16/hr:D
 
Agency

Orac. I would be very suprised if Cape are employing agency labour on Drax. I work for Cape and have never known them use sub-contract scaffolders. It would go against the company guidelines.

i would have to agree on that one i have never heard of cape using agencys,lets hope not and any way is drax not a blue book site
 
Not heard of cape useing agencys my mate told me who work for cape they want a gang for 3 months at glaxo sometime in april

look lads i worked for the same guy who has an agency worked on the shutdown in april 09 for 5 weeks & went back again for a week 02/12/09 for cape.


cottam power station on a shutdown for cape 5 weeks started on 25/05/09.

also worked for cape at outo kumpo in sheffield on a shutdown 20/07/09 for 2 weeks.


i could go on & on did most of year for cape & interserve:)
