Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils - Lowestoft
£18,870 - £20,541 a year - Full-time, Permanent
You will be part of the Housing Maintenance Team assisting in the delivery of a repairs and maintenance service to the council's housing stock on behalf of private customers.
Your duties will be varied, requiring you to work both as part of a team and independently. Duties will be consistent with that of a building maintenance service and may include undertaking or assisting with path replacements, property clearances, gutter clearing, demolition, scaffold erections / dismantling, window cleaning, logistical support and roof replacements. It is therefore essential to have an extremely flexible approach to all tasks and duties requested.
You will have:
experience of working in a building construction environment
a sound knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
ideally, a recent relevant building / construction related qualification.
It is an essential requirement of the post to hold a full UK driving licence, holding a Class C1 licence (up to 7500kg) and / or a current forklift operator's licence would be considered beneficial.
In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development. We want you to stay with us for the long-term, so we will give you all the support we can to build a great career with our organisation. Benefits also include generous leave entitlement and local government pension scheme.
If you have any questions regarding the post, please contact Mark Osbourne, Supervisor on (01502) 523486 or Adrian George on (01502) 523588.
