Hi guys,
I have had several recommendations, not to paint scaffolding.
Is there an HSE guideline or a standard code of practice on this?
Any advice would be appreciated as I need to clear this matter up asap.
Kev.

I believe you can not, due hiding defects etc however never seen any documentation on this, would like to get it if there is something out there....

Can't believe this topic has never been visited before!
Thought HSE would have been all over it.
Recent training course - National Construction College - "Recommend NOT to paint Scaffolding, especially scaffold boards as this can hide defects"
HSE - "The line we take is that we don't recommend painting scaffolding, particularly scaffold boards, as this can hide defects. "
This seems to be aimed more at tube and fitting scaffolding.
Kwikstage is supplied new with and coating of paint.

When working for a company we sent the kwickform for blasting / inspection on the weld's and full painting

We get tax refunds back for construction guys. We'd agree that all taxes are "theft", which is why we love what we do!

Guys, don't hijack my thread.
Seriously, I need to move on this topic.
All help is appreciated.

sgb used to be 100% pink up here,
cant see it being illegal for tube, however painting boards will probably be a no-no due to chemical reaction? and hiding defects.

it's not wise to paint kwikform, why would you want to anyway?unless it's to hide defects or heavy rust, and then it's good only for the scrapyard:unsure:
