Scaff holder

How do these people survive into adulthood - 'scaffholder'. FFS! Mango solutions recruitment, remember that name folks.

The problem being that there's lads willing to work for this kind of rate. I know the rate in Glasgow on sites/streets has not been great recently infact has never really came back since the recession. A few pals of mine were working on price accross the central belt and believe me its poor £2.00 - £2.50/m2 erect and around £1.25 dismantle so do the maths when you have 2 scaffs and a labourers wage to pay, 20% CIS/UTR tax and no holiday pay!!! It's a raw deal North of the border, Money in Edinburgh's slightly better however still nearly 40% less than what's being offered in London, I understand living costs are expensive in London but Edinburgh and Aberdeen are also among the most expensive places to stay in UK.

The only plausible reason I can see for this is that North of the border around 80% of firms use predominantly prefabricated systems, as we all know this literally gets "thrown up" and therefor allows estimators more room to cut throat other potential tenderers and can end up with profit margins being reduced/compromised and when the shareholders feel the pinch you can be sure the scaffs and even management are gonna take a hit.
