Hi I am new to this forum I am a part 2 scaffolder & I am away to do all my offshore training in April and would appreciate if any one knows of work or numbers to call to get my first trip. Any info would be great
Welcome pal, I did the same last year and got my start in July, rumour has it there could be less work going round this year but you could get lucky. My advice would be circulate your CV to all the offshore service companies and back that up with twice weekly phone calls to the recruitment girls.
Thanks mate I'll make sure i have my CV ready to send to all the company's. Is there any numbers or emails I should know instead of send or ring and hope someone gets back to me. I have no numbers or leads at all mate. Really appreciate the help
Start by using google to find the addresses and numbers for the 'big 3', these are cape, salamis and stork. Theres also the offshore work thread on here thats full of info. Hopefully someone who is still working on the field will be able to give you an insight into whos got what work and when.......if any!
Offshore is dead mate I'm trying to get off but with all this carry on with oil prices and cutting back on workforce it's going to be a bad year for offshore all you can do is send a cv and keep ringing but there's loads of guys I know trying to get back offshore with offshore experience but good look fella and keep trying
