Is it possible to work offshore with a part 1 card?

i was condsidering doin my MIST and BOSIET and was wondering if it is possible to work offshore with a part 1 card?

Cheers mate. Just iv heard a few people say that you need at least a part 2 to get off.

in times of need ( probably not now ) rigblast took trainees offshore ,4 years ago a load where taken on by rigblast as they had so much work ,the buzzard platform being an example .
I was taken on as a trainee ( had significant offshore experience prior in drilling ) but was told to take my part 2 asap ,so i worked from the july to the march as a trainee offshore .

jh... to be honest fella you will be better off waiting till next year as there is a lot of constructon jobs starting off in the north sea. and because of the recession a lot of work has been put on hold for this year..just shut downs going on at the moment...same old story tho how you meant to get experience if you cant get a start...chicken and egg thing...
