Alright mate it is usually all inclusive with your supply and erect price, well it is here in ireland but maybe different in uk..

gaffer thinks timber frames dont need a design of you dont board bottom lift os his idea is to erect it 3 lifts board 2nd and top lift stripp top when roofs done and board out bottom lol and doesnt need ite like this ither i think his twisting the dont need ties if working lift is less than 4 x width :laugh:

We sometimes do very nearly that except the first boarded level is above head height but with a foot tie broken only for door access. This lets them fit the floor cassettes without too many obstructions as the joiners were always moaning they couldn't get enough room to swing the big hammer to square the floor. Dummy lift next then erect a wee half lift for the roof which is also handy for the SG4 enthusiasts. Drop the top lift onto the dummy lift when it's tiled with the only real messing around is adjusting the table lifts.

Oh aye, we put ties in an awe.;)

aye the first lift is placed 300mm above slab level which can be over a meter from floor plus 2 x 2 meter lifts that puts the working liftover 5 meters without ties, the reason its 300 off slab and then 2x 2 meter lift is it works out when wall section is in and they place the floor in they walkk right off scaffold on to the landing or bed room, hows it work out for you with floor levels? when we did it in system again it was kicker and 2 but only boarded top lift and kicker lift middle lift had two board hop ups boarded and hand railed off. i was under the impresion all timber frames needed a drawing ?

Not all timber jobs need a drawing, there is a good guidance note on timber jobs you should have a squint at which would clear anything up. They are mainly basic jobs as long as you are tying them in.

If it is just a double storey our first lift is nearly a metre below the wall head of the first floor but all the joists are made into cassettes and are lifted into position by crane, there is no real work done on the joist at this time. The joiners want to be below this level so they can square and nail them. Leaves you 3m to the roof which is a dummy lift then your boarded lift.

We have done it all sorts of ways with 3 boarded levels at 1m, 3m and 5m, it just depends who is on it and what bee in their bonnet their safety man has this week. It was fire escape there for a while so hence the first lift above the door height now but that will probably change next week.

do you mean if ur on price work do you get xtra for erecting them or do you mean when tendering for works

The Way Iv Always Done Timber Kits Are Goverend By The First Floor Joist Height, If Your Ten Foot Lift Runs Through The Joist (Or Just Above The Joist If You Have To Go Over The Kit At Any Time) You Will Be On The Right Side For A Two Meter Brick Lift,And Then The Peins On The Gables, I Have Never Been Paid Extra For Ties Thats All Included In The Estimate.
