Hi Simian,

Don't worry I am not fishing for a job but I was wondering how you would go about receiving the appropriate qualifications to get in to the training game? Is this something the training centres them selves would offer or is it back to school for the scaffs?

AOM, to be an instructor combines the following:

An instructing/teaching qualification i.e. PTLLS (preparing to teach in the life long sector)

A1 qualification, this is the NVQ assessor role.

Must be Advanced Gold card holder of five years and held a supervisory position.

From there they must shadow courses and the part one must be at a different centre to the one you work in.

We dont do the PTLLS and A1, we use a local trainer for PTLLS and TAQA (ex Ento) for A1's

Thanks Simian, there was another thread somewhere boomer was looking for a bit of advice on the way forward to get off the spanners, that will maybe give some food for thought.
