Hey lads, nice to be here and being able to source some info on Scaffolding requirements and procedures... thank you in advance.
I am currently working in HSE (Asia Region) and have came across a rather weird situation regarding Anchorage.
Now, I hasten to add I have worked alongside Scaff's, been heavily involved in Rope Access and working at height for decades and there's something in my head that tells me something isn't right on a site I've just visited.
Scaff's are using "Doubles" as Anchor Points on uprights, so I just wanted to know from the professionals... is this an approved method of tie-off anchorage?
I mean, if an incident were to happen, how can I verify the integrity of the fitting?
How is the Inspection of individual doubles approved and logged accordingly?
Do they have individual serial numbers?
Are they individually load tested, and are the logged in a Lifting Register individually?
Maybe I'm overthinking, but I would assume because of it's shape and general usage instructions from the Manufacturer, this isn't an Anchor Point and shouldn't be used as one just to speed up the job. All other sites use Joran Clamps...
Is there anyone out there that can help me on this and provide some sort of evidence for the yes or no....
Like I say, thanks in advance to anyone who can assist me with this one.
Have a great day, stay safe.
