I failed my H&S test.

So,I am 45 years old,been scaffolding for most of my life,owned my own firm,done labour only,bought liability insurance in the past and failed my H&S test,is it just me or are them questions just freaking stupid,I answered what I thought was the right thing to do but since they don't tell you which answers you got wrong only the category should the tests be made for people in real life or kept as political correct questions?.
 
Sadly Lee, Irrespective of how safe you work on site and how experienced you may be, to get this card you need to swat up on the book they issue. I hold the Black card but most of what the book informed me of I will not use. For the purpose of expanding my knowledge it was great, will it save my life or that of others on site, maybe. I hope I will never be in the position to answer that.

Freaking stupid some of the questions,actually not scaffolding right now but like to keep my ticket upto date just incase I need to fall back on it,booked in next week for another go,I bought the book from Waterstones and after reading the first few pages I thought "screw this,is stupid" and threw the book in the bin,will buy again and read it through this time.
 
Congratulations Lee. I can remember when the whole money making scheme was introduced and a main contractor organised an onsite computer facility to do the test as we all refused point blank to pay for it. Only 3 failed. One was a scaffolder and the other 2 were Russians who couldn't read or write English.
 
As a postscript to my previous post Lee, since acquiring my black card I haven't set foot on a building site.
 
get the cd rom and practice on your computer. when you take the test you know what position on the screen the answer is. i was in and out in 12 minutes no practise no re run.
 
your only the third person ive heard failing that mate,the other 2 where 18yr old stoners one of them was disleyxic.
 
I am seriously thinking of putting my firm back into action LOL,Only joking,just think the questions are stupid.
 
Come on mate you should know what colour fire extinguishers you need when basing out ha ha

Yes,film my first DVD in October just like to keep my ticket upto date cos never know when I may need it again.
 
Just a money making racket these days, nothing to do with H&S. We just put a young lad through his and he cannot get his CSCS card now until he does the COTS course which is another £125 and then extra money for the actual card itself.

One massive scam in my opinion.

Certainly agree with you here. These days you need a ticket for this and a ticket for that....It's just a money making machine and were all getting conned with it.
 
It is a scam i originally started in 2003 got a cisrs card didn't need it till 2006 lol

Imagine in another 10 years time you need a ticket for your spanner lol
