just keep going round the scaffolding firms in your area, visit them every week and keep asking, they will realise you are keen and if an opening appears hopefully they will give you a chance, otherwise get a job as a bank manager i hear the benefits are good, good luck

keep knocking on doors mate and show your keen someone may give you a chance?

also contact your local CITB the local agent might be able to tell you which firms are looking for apprentices, because this route benefits both party's

would have thought as times r hard firms wud be taking on apprentices as its only going to cost them £2.50 an hour as an apprentice but they not so....

if anyone in the know knows of anything in birmigham can you let me know
THANKS ALL

I think it's the construction skills web site you have to register with and citb will try and help find you a firm. Could be wrong with web site name but google it and register asap.

hello pal if i was you id get yourself the basic cscs card so you can get on site a hard hat and high vis vest pop in to some of the bigger sites in the city have a chat with the site manager and scaff foreman nothing like the direct approach

Hi new2, I assume your the fella who emailed me yesterday and I refered to this forum.

As AOM posted I would try the construction skills website as you can register for an apprenticeship there.

Off the top of my head I would suggest contacting SES (Scaffold Erection Services) as they appear a decent outfit which utilise apprentices. Visit Contract Scaffolding - Scaffold Erection Services for details.

As I told you before 5 star were looking for blokes but you might be able to get your foot in the door if you drop by their yard and give them a cv and meet the people.

Wellcome new2scaffolding. My advice would be get a job as a scaffs labourer first to get an idea off the industry first mate. All the best.
