Dico and i use to travel regularly 1800+ miles a week when we were working on the NG, 1 day be in fawley, nxt day in sizewell, nxt day over to didcot, then into st johns wood the nxt day, then maybe pop up to Leics for a day even when the job was 2 or 3 days work we travelled it half the time cause the tight gits only paid 31.60 for digs and most places were 40+ a night,

Well, I hope you all claim your travel and digs expenses! You do know you can, right? Self employed or PAYE, even if you get an allowance - if it's not for the amount claimable, you can claim tax back on the difference.

Cheers for that BetterTax, but all done in a company van and fuel card.

Travelling

Hi

I used to travel from Christchurch to London, Kings Cross and then Croydon four days a week for about 18 years on and off.

About 250 mile round trip, then site visit when I got into town.

Used to about 5 in the morning, back home about 8 with 4.5 hours travelling in between.

Drive carefully out there

I remember one of the bosses said " It was Character building ". He didn't suggest that I apply to a depot closer to home though.
