the firm I'm priceing for at the moment want an electric hoist for brickies to rebuild a stack. Does any body have any recommendations for a decent reasonably priced one. Cheers

You could consider buying one depends how long they want to hire it for the work out about £1200 , but you will need to get it tested by a hoist company , leachs sell the beam type and if you google it there are a few firms selling them now.

ebay mate allways a bargain on there

Yer had a look scaffy some are like £150 but the term "If something seems too good to be true, It useally is" springs to mind.:suspicious:

london hoists should sort you out m8 they use to have a few decent second hand ones that was a couple of years ago tho

hire all testing is down to them then mate speedy or hss if you own it you will have to get it tested

be careful with used machines Dandaps , dont forget you are responsible should something go wrong, at least with new it should be sound .
I have used hoist company's but the problem is if it breaks done the contractor phones you and you get caught in the middle.Just one more thing your insurance may not cover you for it , always best to check :)

They have to be tested twice a year mechanicaly and pat tested

I dont know if they will go that far but we always using Hoisting Services based in Nottingham, it is a small company owned by a guy called Sid Harris who is a top bloke...They specialise in the smaller hoists and their service is second to none and they are very reasonably priced.

LOL andy I think thats what they are going for when I told how much:laugh:

Funny that, seems to be a common thread at the moment. We want the job all singing and dancing and we want it for two and a tanner.:(

Gets my vote! Call Lance or Kirsty for any help.

If you get your own hoists to hire out I guarantee they will be more agro than theyre worth.

We had a load of 150Kg hoists, little yellow things, light to handle, easy to install. Problem is they get abused to fcuk on site.
We now have scaled down on our stock, but if we do supply a hoist we get a disclaimer stating condition of supply, who is responsible etc and will charge for any damage on return.
Suggest you do the same if you go that route, then obviously there is the inspections of them to cover.

trouble with the hoists is like already mentioned you are the man in the middle, tell them to hire it , you fix it to scaffold or what ever you agree to fix it.

if they break down or get broken or extra hires it sometimes a nightmare to sort out as all responsibility is the hirers which would be you.
