20 years at the game,3 years out.......no cisrs ...no job....loads of work but no ticket....can graft ,drive a 7.5 tonner,cscs card,lucas ticket,3 day first aider.know the job inside out...a definite chicken and egg conundrum...any ideas

Thats the prob these days i'm afraid & without the funds you aint gonna get one either. Even a trainnes card now needs a 1day COTS course to get @ just over a £100 this may be your only way to enter back in the game. That will give u 2x 18 months to get on a smaller firm @ a decent rate once they know wot u can do where it shouldnt take too long to save up & self fund or even on a national where as your day rate may be lower theres more chance of them putting you through.without a ticket youll only manage to get a job on a mickymouse outfit doin tea & bickie jobs, with no real job security& eventually even these are gonna get caught out
tbh i know a few guys in your situation some even had the etib cards but have their heads stuck in the sand-you gotta invest inurself now m8, once u got the ticket youll never be outta work.

Ask at the job centre pal.they seem to help anyone out for courses..

in glasgow you can get funding through the european development fund but you need to be unemployed and through ila scotland theres bound to be government agency of the like were u are pal

I was in the same boat
Scrimped and saved for the money
Paid for my part 1 and got funding for part 2
The one thing that stands out was the nasc demand everyone has training
But not many of thier members actually train you

It's a joke none of the big companies train anybody except family members at least the street mobs still do it.

Self-finance is the only way forwards here mate,if cash is short,meybe consider doing it with a credit card.At least you could pay it back over a flexible time period.Good luck pal.
