Congratulations on the forum.

I work as a temporary works design engineer and project manager for TR Services in Bristol. We employ 12-15 scaffolders and we currently do all our own designs in house.

We specialise in railway projects, civil engineering, superstructure propping and just about anything that requires design, so hopefully I can contribute to your forum to the benefit of others.

We are currently looking to recruit an aspiring engineer so if anyone knows of someone (HND/ degree preferable) who would like to join us then let me know.

Hi and welcome

Hi Stuart

Welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately due to the loss of the big national scaffold contractors not many opportunities for people to learn and train as scaffold designers nowadays.

Where did you start/ learn your design knowledge.

All the best with your search

Hi Chris,

My background is from Rolls Royce; so I'm a Mechanical Engineer by trade. Came into the family firm and learnt the trade on the job. I've benefited from working with scaffolders where most problems are not what to build but how to build it.

We're happy to take on a graduate or a school leaver with engineering flare, and we'll train them. So if you know of anyone in our area, then please let me know.

Stuart
