Thanks for all the welcomes lads.
As for working abroad there are so many different ways to approach it.
Sorry to say but the "its not what you know but who you know" system is very much alive and kicking.
My best advice really is to get into the petrochemical and offshore side of scaffolding in the UK get to know people from different trades and keep in contact with them as there are a lot more opportunities to work abroad in different trades than there is in scaffolding.
For sure some of these guys will go overseas and when they have access problems or need scaffolding they will remember you and get in contact.
Remember that there are very few opportunities for hands on scaffs overseas so get some supervisory experience behind you.
Hope this helps, there is always occasional vacancies on the internet but companies tend to go for men with previous overseas experience. Its a catch 22 situation so just keep plugging away, get to Europe first and branch out from there.

Scaffolding qualified people in UK

Dear All

I have joined this great group today! I am seeking for some information, hope I can get it here:

How how many learners there are in the UK studying scaffolding (construction) and how many people qualify as scaffolders each year.

Is there any source, I can get this information.

Any help would be much appreciated.

strange request mate , but you could try asking the C.I.T.B as they deal with most of the training
