Hi, my name is James and I live in Ayrshire, Scotland.

I am new to all of this and would like as much information as possible, I'm currently waiting to hear about training for my part 1 and was wondering if any of you could help me out in regards to what's required of me etc apart from thick skin and a sense of humour lol.

I have friends who are currently in the industry off - shore and in power stations etc, i have also been lucky enough that a local firm have offered me work once i have got my part 1 and my cscs card, considering i have no experience in construction in anyway this is fantastic for me.

i have had a mixed bag of responses from people reguarding this type of work, theres no work, its a hard game, well all i know is, i know loads of folk who are in work and when i look online there seems to be no shortage of vaccancies. and im not scared to graft either.

my long term goal is to go off shore eventually, but i have to start some where, and i guess you all know best lol so any constructive replys welcome.

i know this andy, i am quite lucky in that i know a few people in the right places, and i have someone offering to train me up so as i had said got to start somewhere.offshore is a goal im hoping to achieve but i appreciate i need the experience first.
