If anyone out there has completed training i.e Part 1,2 or Advanced and is looking for funding to complete their relevant NVQ I may be able to help.
Also for ECITB cardholders whose card has expired why not consider achieving the NVQ through OSAT to reflect competence. If you have not previously needed to produce A CISRS card then use the NVQ as a replacement for your ECITB card and complete the Training at some point in the future if necessary.
This may be a realistic approach for scaffolders who have been long term holders of the ECITB card.

Hi and Welcome To The Scaffolders Forum!

welcome demic fitting would it be possible to post the details about this realistic approach for scaffolders of the ecitb ticket on the ecitb thread.would be very interesting
reading welcome to the forum and thanks for your input.

I spoke to the people at osat a few months back. I was looking into a nvq but they said I had to of done training with a cisrs approved training provider before being able to help me with nvq. I was hoping I could do nvq somehow before training at cisrs center but no.

Welcome Demic, can you give more detail for the ECITB lads please?

I gained my A1 Assessors cert last summer (formally D32 D33 i think?) I did this by assessing two Scaffs, lads mid twenties with no tickets, through a registered NVQ center who got funding via train to gain, after completing the assessment portfolio (3 months) the candidates acheieved NVQ Level 2 scaffolding, however to gian the CISRS card the lads would have to complete the 10 day part 2 course at a CISRS center. granted they would not have to do NVQ after the course, as already gained, but I cant see many companies wanting lads with an NVQ and no CISRS card. Not sure what benifit the NVQ will have combined with the ECITB card. Sounds interesting tho!

Just bear in mind Nvq carries all the funding and you cannot get it twice so if you do the nvq without training the training will cost 2 grand Inc of vat for a part one and two. Some training centres do part 1 pay and part 2 free, some do all for free.

strange aint it?i thought the NVQ was the qualification and cisrs was the registration havent things got mixed up and by whom i ask???

I have funding available for experienced scaffolders to achieve the NVQ level2 or 3 through OSAT if you are interested.

I have funding available for experienced scaffolders to achieve NVQ level 2 or 3 through OSAT to reflect competence in the workplace. For sites that have previously been happy to accept the ECITB card the NVQ is usually an acceptable alternative.

Demic i no loads of scousers who got nvq's only from a company in liverpool who had funding and they aren't worth a ham-shank on the sites i work on without a CISRS card (Bam, sheppards, carilion...)
