Advanced Scaffold Inspection Training Scheme (SITS)
Who?
Site supervisors and managers who are responsible for inspecting and checking complex/designed scaffolds for safe use – such as a full-time Scaffold Inspector, Scaffold Supervisor or Project Engineer.
Why?
This course develops candidates’ understanding of the appropriate safety regulations and ability to interpret design specifications and statutory regulations when inspecting complex/designed scaffolding structures for faults.
What?

Scaffolding terminology
Scaffolding components
Scaffold ties
Construction of complex/designed scaffolds to include:
scaffolds with bridging
truss-out scaffold
cantilever drop scaffolds

Candidates will gain qualifications/certification in:
CISRS Advanced Scaffold Inspection Training Scheme certificate on successful completion of the written and practical tests Candidates can also apply for the SITS Inspection Card.
How?
This is a combination of classroom-based theory and practicals. Assessment will take place via written and practical tests.
Entry requirements
Candidates must have held a CISRS Inspection Card (or previous equivalent) for a minimum of two years or hold a CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card. Prior to attending the CISRS SITS course, delegates must hold a relevant and current CITB-ConstructionSkills Health, safety and environment test or one of the approved exemptions (listed in the box below) which must be taken within two years of application. Delegates will be asked by the SITS Trainer to provide evidence when they arrive for the course. Failure to provide information will result in delegates being refused entry to the course. There will be no refunds as a result of non-compliance.
