Established in 1997 by the father and son team of Edward Champney Snr and Jnr, Hadley Southern carved a business for itself providing scaffolding for bridge and rail projects in the southeast, including stations at Maidstone West, Dartford and Tunbridge Wells and on Oxted Viaduct.

It also worked further afield. In July 2009, Hadley erected an inspection scaffold on the Royal Albert Bridge in Plymouth for Birse Rail.

Nedim Ailyan of Sidcup-based Abbott Fielding was appointed administrator on 20 October.

I was going to give them a bell, after Farringdon come to an end, lol.
They used to have a good fair bit of PTS/LUL work...

Only good thing, if it is a good thing is that the PTS and LUL work MUST be done, so another or several others will take Hadleys place, hopefully meaning that the guys out of work, will be able to jump over to another firm, before Christmas.

Armour saves scaffolding contractor Hadley Ι Construction Enquirer

Maintenance contractor Armour has saved 75 jobs at scaffolding specialist Hadley Southern after buying the business from administrators.

South London based Hadley went into administration last month but has now been sold to Armour.

Ned Ailyan, Senior Partner of administrator Abbott Fielding, said: “We are pleased to advise the sale of the business as a going concern to Armour Contracts Ltd.

“The sale has safeguarded 75 jobs and all the contracts of the company and will ensure continuity of the business.”

The company will now trade as a wholly owned subsidiary of Armour.

Ed Champney Jnr, Managing Director of Hadley said: “We are all extremely pleased that a deal has been structured to allow the business to continue trading and retain all of our staff and clients.”

Congratulations! It all sounds very good for Hadley staff and I wish them all well. I wonder though, going to administration, if it will have any ramifications on the works in progress. Some main contractors will use this as a money making oppertunity to pay less for the works via delays and disruption claims.

at least they wont have to worry about NASC , just update the link up
