Same as myself then, tried to get back to work in April after being off for over 2 years, found out I was blacked by a few nameless companies offshore so kind off limits your options a bit. maybe get something decent again in 2011

Always be wary of jobs advertised with a google, hotmail, gmail etc address.
Proper recruitment agencies have a company email.

I know but mate, but anyone can write down details on a cv without disclosing to much information i.e. a copy of your passport to which they can then try and clone

i got sent this job last week as well twice, i mailed Ahmed back for more details but he never replied, i think many companies here in the mid east are gathering C/V's and forwarding to clients to secure contracts pretending they have all the manpower available.
To offshorescaff - all are asking for diplomas here now but as you say not many have them so they settle for experience i have seen, i start my Bachelors Degree in feb 2011 as i feel that in the future most senior positions will def require this so a few years spent now in preparation can only be a help.

from my overseas experience it is more the degree qualified engineer they need rather than a scaffold supervisor. Indians are coming out of universities over there qualified to the hilt and doing these jobs for a third of what we would work for.

I agree with wgogs if you are chasing this you need to up your game.
