A VAN has collided with scaffolding outside a Kendal high street shop, this morning.

Staff at Beales store, at the bottom of Finkle Street, said they heard a loud pop, as their glass window was smashed, just after 9am today.

Kendal Police are currently speaking to the heavy goods vehicle driver at the scene.

Oasis store manager Vicky Procter she heard the sound of the three-floor scaffolding being dragged along the road.

“It was originally put up after a window was smashed on New Year’s Eve,” she said.

“It has been fixed for weeks and was supposed to be taken down this weekend, I think we were just waiting for the insurance to go through - now we’ve got another window smashed.”
