I did a Flying shore on my advanced course many years ago which was only 6.5m long and 2m high and 3m of the ground and the only other one i have seen is when i was scaffolding on the new national libary in London in the 90s and SGB had erected a flying shore out of band and plate and it was a big one !!.
Are they still beiing erected and how big can they go ? Any pics?

Did same mi sen, only ever saw 1 in Liverpool in late 90's.There's other ways of doing the job a flying shore does so i don't think many if any will be errected again.Bit like a hanger on wire,no need.

40 years on the spanner
Erected 2 Dismantled 3, flying shores, worked to drawings all around early 70s
erected around 20 jobs slung on wires, most of them cinemas but a couple of large halls

Happy Days :D

Done a few flying shores , as to how far they can go ( i am not an engineer ) it depends on the tollerences of the structures you are shoring against . Generally the longer the span the bigger the shore .

Sorry cant help, only did it on my Advanced course:weird: Never seen one since:idea:

Chriseng mate, show us a Generic flying shore mate, (Please) drawing i mean:D

Regards Paddy

Maybe all the flying shores ever erected were part of someones advanced course!!

Only did one on adv. course too.

Built plenty of raking shores but only 2 flying shores. I think they have some sort of rsj based system to do it now.

Under the work at height regs , you will usually find a mewp is the best option
