Is alloy 20s suitable for perlings on a false roof and also for the mat (opinions please )

As long as your design states that you can use them pal,. In my oppinion i cant see the problem as its reducing the load.

Ok mate nothing on the design doesn't say some say yes some say need to you use steel for
The Mat thanks for
Getting back to me mate

I appreciate that some guys still work old school on smaller street job& use experiance rather than drwgs - & if the spans are small enough ive used ali for the purlin, especially if its an awkward pull to get the gear up.i have also in the past used ali for the mattress but tbh the weight in galv for the mattress would assist as kentiledge to prevent any uplift. But like den sed should be as per the drwg.these days its all about drws & calcs a get out of jail free card should there be a critical failure - your insurance will pay out on if everythings as per drw if not then its time for you to go to jail without stoppung to pick uo ur hundred piunds

Isit nice reply mate Perling to perling is 24 inch apart and beam distance apart is just under 6 ft but few lads is saying steel for matress no matter what like you said for any up
Lift others saying alloys is better to keep wait out the roof lol so I thought ask you guys

The mattress is the tubes that lay on top of the tin sheets in the wiggly clips when using CI sheets tying them down & stoppinf uplift from the purlins

I think the mattress is the roof itself.....ie the tin sheets. its the first time i've heard that as well fred.

Bloody uncomfortable bed then.

Bloody hell what will they think of next. J-Bolts and swinging about under the beams getting your fingers trodden on was much more fun.
