Hi Guys,

Im on my trainee card, although ive been scaffolding for different companies for the best part of a year, its through agencies or temp work. I really want to do my part one but cant find ANYONE taking on in the Manchester/stockport area.

If anyone knows any where i might have a shot please get in touch, it'd be very much appreciated!

Also, if theres any work going in the same area, even without the potential to be taken on that would be great too!

Cheers!

Dan

Thanks Guys, no such luck yet ... my trainee card will run out at this rate!

Hi Jeff, ive been doing some work for them on different sites, never more than 2 weeks here and there though, no chance of getting my tickets with an agency and i dont want my trainee card to be wasted doing agency work, id love something with abit of stability, with a chance to prove myself for a good firm!

Thanks very much for replying though!

Ive phoned Dave (above) sounds promising, might be the break ive been looking for!

Cheers Jeff

Dan

Still looking ... emailed 50+ scaffolding companies in the north west last week - 0 replies.

One place only taking on 17-20yo as they get a grant for it, no hope for me as im 21.

No luck with interserve above, supposed to phone me back but never got in touch.

Looks like im still labouring for Network rail for the foreseeable, stood watching the scaffs work away while i mix concrete and move bricks!

Any help getting on with a firm very much appreciated

Hey donnelly, welcome to the forum fella. I may be wrong but dont quote me on this.

As far as im aware you would now qualify for government funding of your Part 1, Part 2 and Advanced cards. You have 6 months + site experience obviously, get onto the Government website and check out the under 24 scheme they do. Training 2000 in Blackburn welcome this scheme, so in 6 months ( providing you have all your evidence) you will have your Part 1 ticket. Enabeling your chances for steady employment.

Like I said, I may be wrong. SAure someone will put me right if not.

Good luck fella, hope it works out for you. :D

Hi

Thanks for he info I'll have a look into that tonight.

How much evidence would you say I need?

Thanks

Dan
