We have a site with 70 houses on it, pretty boring stuff but its work for the lads and local. The main contractor has an NHBC safety officer who visits every other week, he's a complete cock of the highest order.
On his last visit he wrote in his report that the scaffolding company had erected the ladder access next to a trench (trench was dug after the scaffold went up ). He also complained that the beanbags we have placed into the rooms to arrest falls were not tightly packed together enough, I had a stand up row with him stating that "your supposed to prevent the fall with a birdcage scaffold, not arresst the fall with bean bags" and that the main contractor was to tight to pay for birdcages, hence the cheapo bean bag option. He just banged on about the pymarid of risk and said it was ok .
Does anybody else have this problem with NHBC safety officers or is just me ? I have seen plastic platform birdcages with plastic tubes now are they any good and how much are they to erect per m2 ?
