don't usually read the guardian, but this caught my eye!

If there is a downturn in H&S bureaucracy in construction, I've not witnessed it.
 
If they slacken H&S, work might actually get done... there is dangerous, sensible safety and then just sillyness...
 
I was in a two hour safety meeting on friday. the guy chairing the meeting pointed out over 50 people have been killed in the last 12 months, more than one a week. Statisically, you have more chance of being killed on a construction site than you have on the frontline in afghanistan - that's a sobering thought.
