Derby Scaffolders

Just a quick question for the scaffs in and around the Derby area. 2 days ago we had our first encounter with someone trying to rob one of our scaffolds just outside Derby in Belper. Fortunately the fitters were still on site and told them to do one. I have a colleague that's just lost 30k worth of gear in Derby to theft.
Is it pretty rife in this particualr area, as where we are it does not happen very often?
Making me think as to whether it's worth travelling that way!

DS the fitters said they were scaffolders that rolled up to take it. They knew is was not their gear because of the colours and our banner, so no claiming it was a mistake.

We will just have to be more careful when getting jobs that way!

heard fran sold up a couple of years ago.pretty much bandit country round derby/derbyshire for gear getting stolen,yards getting robbed ect....

Doesn't look like a very good place to be then. No wonder the Derby firm we are working for keep bringing us in from Staffs!

Also adds up as to why when we went Christmas shopping in the town centre, biggest part of the scaffolds there were alarmed!
