Job Title: Deck Op/Scaffolder
Department: FPSO Glen Lyon (Quad 204) Marine Team
Reports To: BP Team Leader / Cape STL (TBC)
Location: South Korea followed by Offshore - West of Shetland
Position: An exciting opportunity has come up for the following Cape Deck Op Scaffolder position on BP’s new FPSO Glen Lyon. The position will form part of the Multi Discipline Cape Marine Services team who will operate as part of the FPSO base crew, initially in South Korea through hook up and commissioning and into the full operational phase of the FPSO.
Main Activities: Marine Team (Deck Op/Scaffolder)
The Marine Operations Team work under the direction of the BP Marine Supervisor. The Deck/Op Scaffolder will report directly to the Cape Bosun. They are multi-disciplined and capable of supporting all marine activities including deck work, helicopter operations and cargo offloading.
The team is designed to have a marine flavour rather than services
Secondary skills within this team should include rigging, access or scaffolding and fabric maintenance but not to undertake major activities as these should be supported through managed maintenance. The Deck/Op Scaffolder should hold a recognised Scaffolding qualification (CITB Advanced Scaffolder) and be able to perform a variety of minor works. In addition to this the individual should have the capability to perform the required mandatory scaffold inspections and certification. The Deck/Op Scaffolder will hold a valid HDA certificate. All members of this team will be trained in an emergency response role. Previous knowledge of marine operations rather than offshore operations would be advantageous All positions are classed as base crew.
Successful candidates will initially work a 28/28 rotation in Korea commencing October / November 2014 and travel on tow in 1Q 2015 which may require a longer trip. Expected 2/3 offshore rotation west of Shetland to commence 2Q 2015 (however this may remain as an equal time 2/2 rota during the hook up and commissioning phase, subject to operational requirements
