Duration Permanent
Hours 7 days on 3 days off, 7 days on 4 days off.
Duties: Unloading scaffolding equipment at the site Setting base plates on the ground at regular intervals (these stop the upright poles slipping) Putting up the scaffolding poles (standards) and attaching the horizontal tubes (ledgers) to them with couples Fixing the scaffolding to the building or structure to make it more stable, using short 'tie tubes' Laying planks (battens) across the scaffolding for workers to walk on Fixing guard rails and safety netting Taking down the scaffolding after a job is finished. Majority of work will be underground

Essential Criteria:
CISRS Card

Is a CSCS card required? Yes Type: Green or above
This role is PAYE only.
Successful applicants will undergo a Drug and Alcohol test.

If not it shows the high regard the splitarse in the office holds scaffs...wheres my greeny typey card thing gone and whos got my hello mag :wacko:
 
It just baffles me that there wanting scaffs, but there trying to tell us how to erect the stuff as well, dont get wrong i've have learnt something....i always thought the sole pads and base plates went on the top.
 
Not as yet den no quite content where I am at the moment but obviously eyes always open for a 'goodun' to pop up ;)

And yes MH it should be a pukka one as I assume they will put you through some training as crossrail are funded by the goverment and the fact that the crossrail is the biggest project in europe I believe so good few years work ahead I worked on a crossrail site in canary wharf last easter and I enjoyed it

I wonder if it's straight or gay couples they are using. I must admit, working with a few lesbian couples would certainly brighten my day!:blink1:

Yes mate i am sure there would be s lot of training have to you also many chances for future progression.

Well the way the advert was wrote by office bods I assume I'd be expecting a whistle and a pair of gucci's gunny :laugh:
 
The way it was advertised is perfect for you pal, as its telling how to scaffold.......using a spanner...lol lol
 
Well I'm happy at the moment den good few that aint lol but yep shall do ill be paying for assessment in a couple of weeks so by the end on feb the world is my oyster an all ;).but yeah think I'm on this job permanant as opposed to bps
