alright fellas,

has anyone heard off a construction firm called crest nicholson ??
they are about to start a contract in southampton for 1600 homes, shopping center, hotel, the lot. all planning approved and construction started today (heard it on local radio)
does anyone know if they use a specific scaffolding firm and if so who they are.
i reckon a good couple of years work to be had there.

gman

:idea: id rather regret the things ive done than regret the things i havn't :idea:

I'm pretty sure crest nicholson are from northampton way, they used to and may still have a road/civil division called Tripod crest. Tripod crest started their own scaffold company in Northampton called Groveway scaffolding, they went broke about 2 -4 years ago ( i think) was run by a guy called Paul Rooney, who's brother owns MSS scaffolding in Northampton (decent firm). I think this is right but no doubt my learned scaffolding mates will fill in the blanks.

yeh mate they are a big player , mite have to look that one up !!! (new x5 fund)

Crest Nicholson was founded in 1963 under the name of Crest Homes Ltd by Bryan Skinner and Geoffrey Fox. Whilst building new homes remained at the core of the Company, it diversified into a variety of different industries from boat builders to Jewellery wholesalers and finally focused on property development.

Crest Nicholson Plc became a private company on 3 May 2007 when it was acquired by Castle Bidco Ltd, a 50:50 joint venture between HBOS and West Coast Capital, which itself is partly owned by Sir Tom Hunter.[1]

Nothing to do with tripod crest at all, I was completley wrong there, although tripod crest did have a scaffold firm called Groveway in Northampton

do u reckon if i phoned them up, they would tell me who has got or is in the frame for the scaffolding contract.

it sounds like theres gona be plenty of work in and around southampton.
apparantly four firms are tendering for scaffolding the civic center at the moment and our firm have just tendered for some bridge in southampton too !!

if at first u dont succeed, try trill, its easier to digest
