Cost of scaffold fittings to rise sharply

Talking to the manager of the local Generation branch today and he told us that due to some manufacturing plant closing down in China, there is, (or is going to be) a shortage of new scaffold fittings. Any company holding new scaffold fittings in stock are likely to either bump up their prices by 30-50% or they will keep hold of them for their own hire stocks.

Just letting you know in case you are looking to buy new fittings or in case you sell second hand fittings too cheaply.

I'll apologise in advance if this has been posted somewhere else in the forums.
 
I did mention it on another thread Dass but your quite right to bump it up as there will be plenty trying to buy at the wrong time wondering why no one told them.
 
i know the price of new tube is now going up as well pitty the prices of the jobs didnt.
 
Just heard the same thing from generation, took it with a pinch of salt, but they where intrested in buying any spare we had!
 
Heard off of Darnell`s that the chinese are keeping all the steel they are making for themselves hence the increase in tube and fittings
