CITB scaffolder/labourer

Skills Direct Ltd - Bridgwater

£7 - £10 an hour - Temporary

I am currently recruiting for a CITB scaffolder and site labourers.
Working from Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday in busy times.

Fully trained CITB scaffolder's duties will be to erect the scaffolding, House/shop fronts, chimney breast and various other forms of scaffolding.

The labourers duties will be to help unload/reload the lorry, general housekeeping and various other duties that the scaffolder requires.

Both candidates must be physically fit.

Own transport is essential.

now this is what upsets men out of this 10 per hr the scaff as to maintain his motor and find his fuel 80 pound per day you wont even get a paperboy look at that let alone a scaff absolute sham.
 
cowboy.............not all men/boys are build of the same dig as you and i. this is a starting rate and if they excel them selves im sure they would pay them accordingly. pts2s are not worth 50 nicker aday if they cant work.......jus saying. i want men/boys to prove there worth before earning top range lolly. thats more my point. only had 12 pints of strongbow since bn rained off at 2 today. jus so you no. yeeee haaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!
 
Trouble is tbh you offer poor wages then you'll get a poor calibre of men willing to work for ya. Only a decent package will entice a guy with experiance to jump on board
 
steady with the snakeys my favourite see ya point mucker but if ya apply decent money decent men will bite the fruit there is to many jobs out there but to try and tice someone tp prove their calibre good luck anyway scc

Working for an old sgb special projects bloke at the mo and he said sgb used to do a skills test for top rate blokes,

I've got no problems putting any job up to a hi spec safely in a fair time with no drawing or input from anyone else,

that is how I always get top rate anyway as I'm a good competent hand, think the whole industry should look at this as a way of setting rates,

sick of working with idiot carded scaffs who couldn't scaffold a chicken coop :mad:

The card only states you have completed training and a skills match not how good you are, that is down to the boss who pays your wages. Some get more than others thats life.
 
I agree the card does state what grade you have been trained to but when you get someone walk in the yard who was a sack of shyte 3 years ago produces a gold card then the fault lays with the training centres its not skilled assessed anymore its about corporate greed in making fast bucks to become rich so in my eyes the scaffolding training needs a revamp and stop putting men through their tickets until they are ready I have seen men pass who couldn't even walk with a longun let alone erect and like joebag stated in his thread about sgb you were skills tested and it took nearly 5 years to become an advanced scaffolder with the route of companies assessing men .
 
Gotta agree with that as its what uve been sating for years
 
why are people so intrested in what other people are getting and wether they should have theyr card or not?this is exactly why people thinks scaffs are all just sweety wives, if your a young boy and someone offers you your tickets of course you will take them to better yourself, if your happy with your wage you take home to your family then stop crying about other people who can or cannot do something, get over yourselves please.
 
It`s true that there is more to scaffolding than producing a card and expecting top dollar, have worked with many guys who just don`t get that you have to know how to order material, unload the wagon (cause it can`t stay with you all day) deploy your squad efficiantly for getting gear up and down and spending ten minutes stairing at your reflection in a window while doing up a double ain`t gonna get the bucks in. But alas it seems the card is king.
 
their bringing in assessments for your card renewal soon will this weed out the donkeys or is it just another money maker i think the latter.

Colin that's been mentioned before on here does anyone know if the duration will be the same ie part 2 card it's 5 years till touchscreen test I wouldn't be surprised if they shortened it tbh
