Cape plc has been awarded a 5-year contract with ExxonMobil for the supply of access, insulation and associated services to Fawley Refinery in the UK.

ExxonMobil is the world’s largest publicly traded international oil and gas company. It holds an industry-leading inventory of global oil and gas resources, is the world’s largest refiner and marketer of petroleum products, and its chemical company ranks among the world’s largest.

Cape won the contract following a detailed tender in 2014. Cape has previously supplied ExxonMobil with specialist access and thermal insulation services in support of maintenance and projects activities at Fawley Refinery. This is the first time, however, that ExxonMobil has chosen to combine the access and insulation under a single contract.

Joe Oatley, Chief Executive Officer of Cape plc commented: “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract which we were able to win by demonstrating to ExxonMobil the value that Cape can deliver with our innovative approach to both access and insulation. We will be working hard over the coming months to ensure we achieve a smooth transition and I look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with this important client.”

Boys can I ask what the draw of the industrial/power station sector is? Is the £££ great or good work enviroment etc always wondered why ppl chase them types of jobs, how does the wages compare to say London wages

Always wondered as I had a start years ago for capes in deptford for luck would have it dicos boss Julie something but chose another start instead cheers boys

personally im from glasgow and street work will give you a good wage NOT a great wage
Grangemouth is 40 mins away,i worked extensively in the UIE and it was all Rig Work so i veered towards that sector.I liked the work as there was a lot of variationand a lot more head scratching.
I personally think that A SCAFFOLDER should be able to work in any sector but I very much doubt a lot of the modern day "INDUSTRIAL SCAFFS " couldnt cut it on the street;)
LONDON SCAFFS DONT NEED TO CHASE THE WORK

Where is the UIE? Do you need an Algerian visa for there?

I believe most street merchants struggle in the industrial sector until they understand the complexities of providing access for mechanical, piping, structural and insulation trades.
I also believe most industrial merchants would struggle if on price work in the civil sector but are generally ok on large day work sites.
Financially industrial work pays less but longer hours are available.

r8 pal pretty straight forward really if your on the petrochemical side of things and it takes you all day to put a 3 lift tower up your a super scaff
if it takes you all day on the street your allen sugarfired hence threads advertising for scaffs and they slip in no boiler suit scaffs pal
